Meryl Streep: The Life and Times of a True Legend

It’s safe to say that Meryl was beyond ecstatic due to the immense honor she had received. She wasn’t a shoe-in to win, so people were very surprised by the development of the events there. In fact, Meryl was so happy that she got very drunk and managed to lose her Oscar in the toilet. She left it there when she was going to sit down for a minute and never reclaimed it. It’s a good thing someone found it later on, as it would be a shame to lose her prize.

John Cazale’s death hit her hard. He was fairly young, at the age of 43 when he died. The two got along very well, and it was heartbreaking to see him go. Despite the pain, Meryl knew what kind of person John was and knew that he would want her to move on. She met Don Gummer, a creative and charming sculptor, a few months after John passed away when he lent her his apartment. They got married in 1978. Don and Meryl are still married and have four children together.

Her co-star was Jeremy Irons, who managed to support her majestically. This movie will forever be remembered as Streep’s first lead role, the one that showcased her talents the best.
